This standard, which concerns the quality process in the automotive industry, is one of our customers’ requirements. 

It focuses on the expectations for continuous improvement, defect prevention, and reduction of variations and waste in the supply chain. 

It describes the processes for the development, qualification and manufacturing of components in the majority of our products and is based on the Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) process, whose primary tool is the specific control plan. 

At Soucy Baron, we are proficient in all quality management, such as FMEA and Measurement System Analysis (MSA). While Soucy Baron is not currently certified for this standard, we have mastered its principles and benefits.

In addition to planning and quality management processes, the assurance of product performance is crucial. To this end, Soucy Baron follows ASTM standards. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) sets international standards for materials, products, systems and services. Every piece we develop meets key benchmarks for performance and use.

The procedures related to ASTM standards involve respecting the specifications for mechanical strength and elongation, resistance to aging and chemicals, static and dynamic rigidity, adhesion, and durability.

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is a regulation of the European Union that aims to protect the health of humans and the environment from the risks that chemicals may pose. 

REACH regulation requires companies to identify and declare the proportion of SVHC5 (Substance of Very High Concern) substances they manufacture and use in their products. They must demonstrate that the substance can be used safely, and are obligated to notify and communicate to users the risk management measures in place. 

This is precisely what Soucy Baron does by complying with REACH. As of 2020, Soucy Baron is proud to have eliminated all new substances of concern from the composition of its products.
